Yay, Ars Technica now has an official Mastodon presence! @arstechnica
@benjedwards @arstechnica I’m kind of surprised Ars didn’t set up their own instance just for posting official links and for their reporters/employees. Seemed like a classic Ars project to write about.
@HitokiriEric @benjedwards The time and resources (and extra costs) to maintain it long term just don't make sense for us at this point
@arstechnica @benjedwards Makes sense. Thanks for the response and glad to see you all make your way over here officially.
@HitokiriEric @arstechnica @benjedwards And thankfully, Mastodon has other ways of verifying their reporters without too much trouble!
@arstechnica
@HitokiriEric @benjedwards something to consider is what WaPo is currently doing, which is adding a <rel=me> string where if (for example) Jennifer Ouelette @JenLucPiquant wanted to like to her Ars profile in her Mastodon profile, a line of code on your side would "verify" that she's the same person as on your web profile.
@benjedwards @arstechnica Ars Technica is my favorite tech site and the 2nd thing I read in the mornings, right after I hit up The Guardian. I hope everyone who follows me and likes tech talk will also follow them.
@Benj Edwards good i unblocked mastodon.social. Might not last long though. They should have their own server anyways!
@benjedwards @arstechnica hit that follow button as quick as possible

@benjedwards @arstechnica

I’ve been waiting for this. 😃
