I updated my list of favourite #scifi #books !
And I'd love more recommendations in the 3 main categories: #solarpunk , #hopepunk and #afrofuturism

Updated my favourite #scifi list again!
And somehow I had forgotten to include my favourite #solarpunk story - a half-built garden - last time. Bit embarrassing. 😬
EDIT: New update: https://mastodon.floe.earth/@lex/112241142364628029
Nice overview. Quite a few titles I've already read, and also quite a few that can goon the To Be Read list. Either way I'm happy 😊
Thank you!
you're welcome, glad I could help! 🙂
I started to read The Telling, but haven't finished it. I loved the dispossessed, but I have to say I didn't find it an easy read... I really have to focus when reading her books.
Will check out the ones you mentioned though, thanks!
@lex
OF ONE BLOOD by Pauline Hopkins is a sort of proto-Afrofuturist lost world adventure that's thoughtful, exciting, and hopeful even in the face of tragedy. It's also over a century old, so you can read it for free at Project Gutenberg: https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/69255
That said, there's a recent edition with extra context in the front and back matter, which I highly recommend if you want more sociohistorical context. https://www.penguinrandomhouse.ca/books/710584/of-one-blood-by-pauline-hopkins-introduction-by-minister-faust/9780262544290 . (I found a copy at my library.)
you're welcome!
thanks for the recommendations. Women at the edge of time was recommended to me a few times now, I'll make that the next one I'll read 🙂
