@jbouie One of the last things the gerrymandered-into-a-majority Michigan Republican legislature did at the end of Snyder's 2nd term was pass a law to limit the percentage of initiative petition signatures that could come from any county, which would have made it all but impossible for liberal initiatives to pass. Thankfully our Supreme Court struck it down, but illustrates how close we came to backsliding away from democracy here in Michigan and how important court elections can be.
