@waitworry @JenYetAgain as a colleague said, and probably many others, when he talked about rockets, I thought seems legit, he knows rockets, I don't, when he talked about electric cars, I thought seems legit, he knows electric cars and I don't, when he talked about software development, I vowed to never get in one of his cards or rockets.

I can't believe NASA is working with space x, after this incident.

@Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain I honestly don't think the Muskrat knows anything really about the companies he owns/manages. Out of all the companies, up until this point, it *seemed* like SpaceX seemed to have reliable products (including the Falcon 9)...😬
@compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain I doubt he does. Not a fan. Why up to this point? SpaceX is the only american company with a human rated vehicle. Their Falcon9 launches are utterly boring and go off without a hitch. Boeing starliner has not been certified nor blue origin AFAIK. SLS finally flew recently after decades. SpaceX is crushing it yet people judge them by Starship which is a prototype and not in production.
@bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @[email protected] we judge the irresponsible nature of how this went down, we judge that he ignored people more intelligent than he will ever be when they told him there would be issues, we judge the waste & biblical incompetence of one of the richest men in the world who has pocketed billions of taxpayers cash & set light to it in front of our eyes during a cost of living crisis.
@Vonskinnback @bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain He keeps making ludicrous claims. This vehicle won't ever be able to carry 100 passengers. Point-to- point ballistic transport is a complete non-starter. The immense technical hurdles to traveling to Mars, let alone colonizing the place, can't be waved away. People get annoyed when he keeps broadcasting this garbage through friendly media conduits.

@fgbjr @Vonskinnback @bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain It's also fairly well known at this point that Gwynne Shotwell is actually running the show at SpaceX.

Gwynne is an actual mechanical engineer who'd worked in the aerospace industry for a decade before SpaceX. She's also the adult in the room and the manchild.

Without her, SpaceX would be a Twitter-level shitshow: https://youtu.be/K1xWaua-nLI

@ajsadauskas @Vonskinnback @bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain All true, but she has also touted Starship as a viable means of intercontinental transportation, one of the top WTF proposals coming out of the project. Elon probably commanded her to do so, but still.
@fgbjr @ajsadauskas @Vonskinnback @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain I did hear about the point to point proposal assumed it was for retail and military but don't know why it would be infeasible
@bassplayer @ajsadauskas @Vonskinnback @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain Cost, inflexibility, risk of collateral damage from detonation at launch or landing. The military are not interested.
@ajsadauskas @fgbjr @Vonskinnback @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain Whoops been spelling her name wrong but totally agree she is doing a great job
@ajsadauskas @fgbjr @Vonskinnback @bassplayer @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain Agreed. She's been running the show at SpaceX. Though I suspect the Muskrat has had more of a role in Starship....

@ajsadauskas @fgbjr @Vonskinnback @bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain

I wonder if she left the "Starship" work to Musk and concentrates on the very successful Falcon instead.

One is a shitshow, and the other is a very lucrative business which launches like clockwork.

@Vonskinnback

Maybe you should start judging the system that makes people like him reach the top?

Does it matter how many people perish in the mines or is it just about the money and diamonds you get out of them?

It's always the same.
He build a Tesla Fabrik in germany, society said "water protected region and there isn't enough water!"
He simply said: "look around, does this look like no water .. and politicians helped him."

@bassplayer @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain

@Vonskinnback @compuguy @Wildheart_Baby @waitworry @JenYetAgain It's only taxpayer waste if they don't deliver on the agreed contract. I would argue there is more taxpayer waste with using SLS which is orders of magnitude more expensive and single use or worse paying 90M per seat on Russian Soyez rockets. Before SpaceX the US was doing that. I get it you hate the guy, I'm not a fan, but don't punish Gwen S. and her engineers just because their boss is a dick.
SpaceX didn’t want to blow up its launchpad. It may have done just that.

Videos shared on social media showed debris slamming into a van several hundred feet away and striking the nearby beach and the shoreline as if they were a war zone.
