Came across this cool queer sf/fantasy display in my local branch of Forbidden Planet in Glasgow, complete with colour coding as to exactly who is represented in each book.

Clearly somebody in the shop really cares - kudos to them!

@jamesthomson 'books that pass the Bechdel test'
@jamesthomson Thats awesome! Sadly could never do that here… place would get a brick though the window or worse. 😡😓
@jamesthomson what color dots for Necronomicon? ;) Anyway kudos for bookshop staff! They do really good job!
@mackozer @jamesthomson Necronomicon gets the colour out of space, I imagine
@jamesthomson nice to see this, but also I’m screaming at them putting stickers on the books.
@stuart Ah, it's fine - it's not like Waterstones doesn't do it too!
@jamesthomson oh that’s awesome. Not something I’d think of at all but it what a great way to find new stories.
@jamesthomson agreed. Also helpful to avoid reading stuff you don’t want to know.
@jamesthomson awesome! Thanks for sharing
@jamesthomson I seem to remember Forbidden Planet being on Buchanan St back in the late ‘80s/early ‘’90s. A much smaller shop. Back then, though, I think their idea of inclusivity was offering Marvel AND DC comics. Glad they’ve moved with the times.
@alistairlogie Yeah it just moved to the big new store on Sauchiehall St about three years ago, and the old one stayed open until fairly recently.
@jamesthomson I misread that last one as aromatic and wondered if that meant the book passed a sniff test.
@jamesthomson Do love how it’s beside the HP merch as well!
@Taubner Yeah, I thought it was a well-placed “fuck you” to all that.
@jamesthomson Love this! Definitely wish there was this sort of access to queer literature when growing up
@Squawkypenguin Yeah, things have come a long way!
