I'm eager to be someplace else, and am hopeful that in the long run protocols like ActivityPub can solve the current state of social media.

I totally understand. This environment is like a little "local" social club and Twitter is part of the global content creation monetization system... I'm just being selfish because I want to leave Twitter but don't want to leave my fav wargaming content creators. This Mastodon env has really grown on me and I wish it got the activity that Twitter does.

@gitano @playersaidalex @theplayersaidgrant I'm pretty hopeful that social media is going to morph into a more platform independent type of thing (like Mastodon) where your content belongs to you and not to an app. I'm also hopeful this platform grows too. I will think about posting more Mastodon-exclusive stuff, and I'm thinking to move to the wargamers.social server in a couple of weeks.

I'm also finding that it's harder to discover stuff here, with the fractured nature and the need to search by # to find things across servers. Not a complaint, mind you, but I hope they can improve cross-server discoverability.
