This will be familiar to anyone who has been watching the rapid unscheduled disassembly of Twitter https://twitter.com/spacex/status/1649045802332073986?s=61&t=Vqm9FnxVwEfRYYt9aGnAeA
SpaceX on Twitter

“As if the flight test was not exciting enough, Starship experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly before stage separation”

Twitter

@caseynewton I particularly enjoyed the live feed which was lots of cheering, silence as the spaceship broke, then lots of cheering again for the explosion.

Really summed up Elon fanboys quite well I thought

@caseynewton @Kevin WOOHOO! Blowed up good! Blowed up REAL good!
@Kevin @caseynewton For much of the cult members I wonder if (with rattly tonsils) "YEEEAH!!!" was their first word?

@caseynewton it feels scheduled/on purpose though. What are you thoughts on Elon tanking Twitter into bankruptcy (to offload debt), then using the (at time of purchase) Twitter codebase to spin up his “X” everything app (WeChat clone)?

I’m not a bankruptcies expert, so not sure how much debt he could jettison, if he’s in fact doing this or something like this.

@caseynewton this is Orwellian language if I have ever seen it 😅
@caseynewton this is a common joke SpaceX uses. Best to not read too much into it
@me1000 @caseynewton Indeed. Unlike Twitter, SpaceX has an adult in charge: Gwynne Shotwell.

@caseynewton the flips failure and explosion happened as it was supposed to seperate

So I guess seperation successful? 😆

@caseynewton Time to head back to Twitter and partake a restorative firing or two
@caseynewton A rapid, unscheduled disassembly is also what will happen to your car engine if you run it low on oil
@caseynewton why do Americans use so many words when they mean it was f**ked
@caseynewton How long until tweeting about this is shadow banned?
@caseynewton the time this post came to Casey is like the time the apple came to Isaac
@caseynewton i guess they can easily use the same press releases
@caseynewton did the rocket have a tag on it that said “69% government funded”?

@caseynewton
That's not entirely fair. The explosion of the SpaceX Starship rocket was something that absolutely everyone saw coming, but were hoping against hope that it wouldn't.

The explosion of Twitter under Elon Musk, by contrast, was something that absolutely everyone saw coming, but were hoping against hope that it wouldn't, but also with more puerile gratuitous sexual innuendo and casual fascism and bad-faith hypocrisy.

@caseynewton
(I found the relative lack of puerile sexual innuendo on the SpaceX side especially surprising given that we're talking about the "world's most powerful rocket" here.)
@caseynewton in rocketry, Rapid Unscheduled Disassemblies are often accompanied or preceded by Engine-rich Exhaust, in the case of Twitter I think it is more Engineer-rich Exeunt
@bennyfactor @caseynewton ENGINE-RICH EXHAUST I'm dying🤣
@caseynewton you mean this _wasn't_ about twitter? ;-)
@caseynewton Starship fell apart almost as quickly as Musk's name!
@caseynewton Twitter layoffs were a failed main stage separation. 🚀🤷‍♂️
@caseynewton Couldn’t handle the load of Elon’s massive ego.
@caseynewton Seriously...and on taxpayers dollars. Glad the hand outs work for him. :-S #loser
@caseynewton why are there 10 spaces before stage separation?
@caseynewton This was a test run for twitter, which is in the tumbling sequence recently
