That time - when you're in the zone - and...
@bitlevel
Oh I do know that feeling!!!

@bitlevel "It's ok, this will only take 2 minutes!"

Your two minutes just set me back 2 hours. Sadly, this was a concept I could not get people to understand when I worked in IT. I'd ask people to ask themselves "Is this interruption worth losing an hour of this company's revenue?" Even phrasing it that way, management never got it.

I don't miss that job.

@bitlevel For me, what happens is I’m so focused, I don’t hear anyone talking to me. And then when I continue to focus, people get very upset and ask why I’m invisible to them. Good times!
@atomicpoet @bitlevel 6th panel: re-introduces another regression bug instead of fixing the one you almost reasoned out.
@bitlevel I feel this to my very soul.
@bitlevel When in the zone: That is why I started getting to work at 4 AM, 4+ hours before anyone else. Got an IMMENSE amount of work done (also helped by giving me total access to all of the system computers).
@bitlevel This is why I despise open office plans

@bitlevel Pshaw! I do this to myself! Leave one room, go to another to do something. Something catches my eye or I think of something kinda abstract. Whatever, it takes over. Original thought, gone. And often to the place of no retrieval. But the original "do something" had meaning, had thought behind it, was worthy!

The "what was I doing?" or even "what was I going to do?" vanishes into the vapours. My own worst enemy, I am sometimes...

What were we just talking about???

@bitlevel every single time the phone rings at work, yep.
@bitlevel For future reference for anybody finding this post and wantign to go to the source, it comes from https://www.monkeyuser.com/2018/focus/

@cinnamon Correct. monkeyuser.com can be found referenced at the bottom of the image. πŸ˜‰
@bitlevel yeah, but browsing through all their stories to find the right one to bookmark took me a while πŸ˜…
I'm not saying that I was pissed off for not having a reference or anything like that, just that I found the reference and it might save some time to the next person coming to the post after me.
