80s portability hit different.
@BasicAppleGuy your phone fits inside this handy briefcase!
@BasicAppleGuy why am I more surprised she gets on a bike at the end? After all the clips @notjustbikes made I would expect she loads it into a car.
@BasicAppleGuy I always nicknamed the Mac Portable the Mac ā€˜Transportable’ because of this, true!
@BasicAppleGuy 0% chance there was a computer in that bag on the bike haha. Who would do that??
@BigMacAdmin @BasicAppleGuy @notjustbikes Heaps of people. I’m disappointed that after two decades of inactivity the railway lines in my region will be turned into rail trails, but I’m getting ready for it by buying a cargo bike so I can head to jobs in other towns via it (I considered riding bikes on rural roads too dangerous for my tastes).

@sendai @BasicAppleGuy @notjustbikes just a lot of money to put in bulky bag in that basket, lots of faith in your bike and your luck!

Then again, she isn’t wearing a helmet either.

@BasicAppleGuy I remember lugging my SE/30 from the train station to my college dorm… not fun.

Mactracker says the SE/30 weighed 21½ lbs (ā‰ˆ9.75 kg).

@BasicAppleGuy The part that kills me the most is when she puts in the manual.
@BasicAppleGuy ā€œwaterproofā€ ?! 🫄
@BasicAppleGuy In college as Macs were coming onto campus I did "Have Mac, Will Travel" personal training for professors as part of my library job. I lugged a Mac Plus in that exact case for miles and miles...
@BasicAppleGuy well, it IS lighter than a Commodore SX-64 šŸ˜‹
@BasicAppleGuy thank God the manual fits inside
@BasicAppleGuy It looks like a big toolbox or a cooler full of drinks

@BasicAppleGuy This one from Commodore was more ridiculous. He’s not carrying a monitor or a floppy drive, or even the power brick.

So whoever he’s going presumably already has those things. Which means there’s likely another computer there anyway.

@BasicAppleGuy I still have one of those in the cellar. With the Mac Classic in it.
@BasicAppleGuy Yup. I once had to take my SE on an airplane. Loaded up just like this and taken through security. We had to plug it in and power it up to prove it wasn’t just a Mac-shaped bomb.
@BasicAppleGuy I had a Zero Halliburton case for my Mac Plus that I bought through Apple. Tough as nails but about the size of and as ungainly as a dorm refrigerator.
