This individual apparently has a long criminal record, and the multiple prior convictions were what made the 70 sentence possible. When I left the Army in 1980 I was going to ride my motorcycle back to California on a Southern route, as it was Winter. My commander discouraged me, saying a guy with short hair riding a motorcycle with CA plates would likely get harassed by the police or local vigilantes.
