Okay, today’s photo is from Honolulu. It’s an old, rotting VW van. I took with a Leica M10-D and the M-Hexanon 50mm lens. Besides the color and composition, what I like is that the total lack of adornment on the van suggests possibility, like an open canvas.

Editing wise the way the light hit I didn’t have to worry so much about lifting shadows on the van. But I did create a mask for the background to life some of those shadows. I also touched up the green a bit.

@jbouie I do love those DC metro photos. I also took a worse version of that same Pepsi sign when I lived in Cville. Not sure if I still have it.
@jbouie the Porsche wheels are a nice touch!
@mokers @jbouie Came here to say that. Factory 986 rims, I believe.
@0x575446 @jbouie yes the photo is great and the wheels are so asymmetric to the aesthetic at first. But second glance and it is a very clever nod to the family heritage.
@mokers @jbouie Thank you! Knew those weren't 'right', but left to my own devices, I'd never have placed them!
@jbouie I really like the gradient dots the rust makes on the blue exterior

Outstanding! My brother and I used to wrestle in one of those, bombing down the highway — ah the 70s.

@jbouie are its windows opaque due to white shades, or paint, or something else? I don't remember how those vans' windows usually looked (it's been a long time since 2am Denny's runs in my college roommate's old microbus).
@jbouie Immense aesthetic dichotomy with those Porsche wheels
@jbouie the wheels cost more than the van did new
@jbouie I love the #Leica M10-D. I shoot with it all the time because it keeps me in the moment, especially when I'm with my family. It's also a great way to refine my photography and to see later on what kinds of shots I got with different settings I used.
