I know precious little about the leaker but I have one clue: they use Gorilla Tape. Seriously, some of these documents are sitting on said tape. Only barely in frame but the colors and logo are unmistakable. I would screengrab to show you but these docs are marked top secret and I am not fucking with that.

Leaked secret Pentagon documents lift the lid on U.S. spying on Russia’s war in Ukraine

Dozens of leaked Pentagon documents posted online have exposed details of U.S. eavesdropping on Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine. The damage remains unclear.

The cache that we have is a collection printouts, most if not all marked TS and with other markings, seemingly snapped by someone's phone camera. Sometimes the docs take up the whole frame, often not. My best guess is these were taken in someone's car, but I can't say with certainty.
The provenance of these is really interesting. They appear to have floated around online for a while before showing up. Is this Russian intelligence playing 6-D chess to seed them? Ukrainian intelligence? American? A whoooole lot of people have clearance. I would not be shocked if this is just some not-bright dude who had clearance and took pics of what he had, and either was Russiapilled or had his iCloud hacked. But that is pure, uncut speculation; I have no other insight.
@kevincollier it’s what someone wants us to see and I feel like too many people are losing sight of that
@hacks4pancakes @kevincollier Yup. I'm wondering if the actual goal is to mess up relations with our allies.
@hacks4pancakes @kevincollier I'm not even sure what's novel about these documents. I feel like I'm missing something in this conversation, because everything I've read about what's in them has been "yeah, that sounds right", while media reports are trying to treat it as some sort of bombshell. Am I just paying more attention to the war so I see early speculation? Or less and am not aware of crucial context?
@kevincollier
As someone without a clearance who has, in the past, specialized in reading such documents to report for Lawfare, is there a convenient archive someplace of all of them?
@ncweaver I don't know of anyone sharing the cache publicly, presumably because of fear of posting TS docs
