@theothersimo @juddlegum But as I mentioned earlier, the implication is worse for a news organization than the other corporations that receive government funds and benefits. To be labeled “government funded” is intentionally trying to tie their coverage to the will of a State. In essence, it’s ok for Tesla to be known for receiving government money. But a news org is being called “state propaganda.”

Tesla's total subsidy value according to the data is $2.44 billion, across 109 “awards” — 82 federal grants and tax credits as well as 27 state and local awards[2].
