@shantini yeah, I honestly don't see us as a country so much as a federation—a mix of semi-autonomous progressive states and corrupt theocracies, loosely collected under an increasingly impotent central government.
Hence why I'm never comfortable attributing American innovation to our system of government. We've been innovating with an arm and a leg tied behind our back. So much human potential has been wasted—just crushed—because of the backwardness of the other side of America.

No, the goal is simply to point out the disconnect. No one expects this to pass.

This seems to fall in line with such decisions. Shouldn't we be glad to rid ourselves of political parties that supported slavery? Isn't this far overdue? Shouldn't we topple and burn anything related to those parties?
