So does anyone know why someone or some agency would do this? Is there a reason?
@marbeff Apparently those bumps (which help people with vision impairments) cause problems for people with things like knee scooters or walkers which have wheels that can get stuck on them/cause painful jolts. There is probably a solution that involves strips of bumps and a clear path through the middle, but I'm not an accessibility expert.
@SRLevine interesting, I knew their use but I didn’t realize there was a discussion about conflicts with comfort for other users.
@SRLevine @marbeff Interesting. I almost wiped out hard on one of those that was metal. The paint wore off and it was super slippery in the rain/snow. Though this one does not look metal. (It was also right across from a school.)
