Attached: 3 images A thing that's new to me, even though it's been around since 1947 is the #Curta. It's some sort of manual calculator much like a slide rule and was invented in #Liechtenstein. These can be seen at the enter.ch media and computer museum in #Switzerland. #retrocomputing

It's an engineering marvel and deeply embedded in a bitter story around Curt Herzstark, an Austrian inventor. Not only did he have to deal with 1930s Germany and Soviet occupation, but he was also cheated out of his rights and money several times, if I remember correctly.
