"In 64 councils, the Conservatives won an average of 62% of the seats with the support of just 44% of the electorate. This is a shocking democratic deficit” (Compass director, Neal Lawson).

This deficit can be overcome on May 4th but only if progressive parties co-ordinate to allow the best placed party to win and only if we get out to vote and vote tactically -

Anti-Tory parties urged to oust Conservatives from 'tragedy councils' - see list

@WEBylines please reblog this link - we need a fair voting system https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/624481
Petition: Change the voting system to proportional representation (PR)

We believe changing the voting system for all elections to PR will make elections fairer, as the number of seats won per party will more directly represent votes cast.

Petitions - UK Government and Parliament
@WEBylines Labour has proven that its entirely open to tactical voting to get their preferred results. #BetterTogehter #ScottishCouncilCoalitions

@CloudyMrs @WEBylines
I want Labour to be COMMITED, not just open, to #GTTO & OPENLY backing tactical voting in EVERY seat that a tory can be beaten.

If LD/SNP/PC/Green/ Monster RL party are 2nd to a tory then STAND DOWN.

That also goes for all other parties. If Lab are 2nd to a tory....STAND down your candidate.

Then we can have the coalition Govt that brings in PR to MAKE EVERY VOTE COUNT & never have a tory dictatorship again !

@GrahamKirk @WEBylines you misunderstand. Labour is open to tactical voting WITH the Tories AGAINST The SNP. They've been doing it for years. They are on the same side as the Tories.
@WEBylines However, the Tories are doing a great job of disenfranchising a large swathe of voters by putting impediments in the way of younger voters. Student cards, young persons Oyster cards etc not permitted as a form of photo ID, while old crusties who are more biased towards voting Tory can draw a stick man of themselves and waive it at the polling station.
