@TonyStark A child leaving home for school in the morning might not return home alive, owing to too many guns being too easily accessible to too many people who would use the guns to shoot at school children and school staff and first responders.

Please do not be so gracious towards Republicans. They want "unborn babies" to be "ripped to shreds," provided it is by a back alley butcher.

They fight EVERYTHING proven to reduce abortions - policies that promote education and equality, social safety nets, and most of all birth control.

They don't give a r* a* what happens in a woman's uterus, only what happens in her head. She's not allowed to THINK its ok to have an abortion.

Our constitution doesn't guarantee a "right to life".
The preamble to the Declaration mentions the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" but that's an unenforceable document.
Columbine and Sandy Hook were so appalling it should've shamed people into supporting gun control but no. And the 2nd Amendment isn't the reason why, never was. The ability to use it to make billions of dollars is the reason and a strong one.

According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 8% of the population over the age of 16 hunt. If you take the percentage of gun owners in the US (which is estimated at 35% by National Survey of Private Ownership of Firearms—NSPOF), that’s a huge difference. When you look at this report from the DOJ, it’s frightening how many people own guns “just because”

It is just inexplicable to most of us in Europe. Very few people here have any issues with our strict gun laws; yes, criminals can still get hold of guns, but shootings are extremely rare. And our children don't have to have active shooter drills.

@TonyStark @DemocracyMattersALot if I were king of America, I’d allow people to own any kind of gun they want in any quantity but it must never leave a regulated armory/shooting range. Adults can keep a single small capacity handgun at home, and it’s subject to registration, inspection, and training. You have to apply for hunting rifle permits subject to the same limitations.

Certain geographies are responsible for 70% of all gun deaths in America & have as much as 12x the number of gun deaths per 100k people. They also have the highest gun ownership while states with the fewest number of gun deaths all have strong gun control laws.

@TonyStark The Second Amendment was ratified in 1791, based in parts on the Brits' Bill of Rights of 1689, and fatally never reasonably updated to fit changing needs & conditions to guarantee peaceful social coexistence, which evidently collides with the population's "right to keep & bear arms".
Which led to numbers of firearms in civilians' hands bigger than the number of America's overall population.
