Wow, so Twitter will actually not show you anyone who hasn’t paid for Blue in its recommendation feed (which is the default, and seems to be set back to the default regularly even if you changed it manually).

That’s not going to annoy people at all. I’m guessing we’re not going to see another spike of Mastodon users.

Just like the last couple of times. Things like the removal of editing tweets unless you pay, push of rightwing.. stuff, ban of certain journalists. It's much easier to complain than actually do anything. I too want to be optimistic but outside of a fraction of those that complain I don't see it happening.

@thelinuxEXP @BenjaminNelan It's bad, but it's not the worst. Here, YouTube thought I would really enjoy this video that was released MOMENTS ago and had NO VIEWS by someone I DON'T KNOW. And this is the kind ot video that YouTube is against it.

@duckrinium @thelinuxEXP Since I still get clients sending stuff through Facebook I unfortunately end up on the feed on there regularly enough to see the dumpster fire that is Facebook's idea of 'Suggested for you'

I have no idea if there's a way to just view people I'm following/friends with - but every time I see that feed it's 80% 'Suggested for you' trash with clickbait articles, photoshopped posters, celeb gossip and shorts.

@duckrinium @thelinuxEXP This button does not do anything. These stupid reels always show up no matter what - and I can't ublock them because Facebook's elements are generated nonsense specifically designed to avoid ad blockers.

@thelinuxEXP Nick, it's a complete mess, in France I have more an more tweets coming from notorious fake-news or anti-vax kind of accounts. They pay for Twitter blue and now this kind of shit is even more put under the spotlight. What a lot of 💩

@thelinuxEXP Apparently it's to curb the flood of "AI bots" according to Elon Musk. I heard you also need to be verified to vote in polls (don't know if that change has gone through yet)
