I was just made aware of all of this yesterday at work. It's been absolutely fascinating and frustrating to read. Plagiarism is one of the fundamental issues you learn to avoid in basic comp classes, and the willful execution of it baffles the mind.

@mssprovenance My university tries to assess impact in ways that go beyond traditional metrics. So, I can include non-peer reviewed articles, but must include descriptions of impact (Made up Example: This article was downloaded 200 times, has been used in course syllabi at the University of Washington, and has been cited 88 times). She can only include the name of the peer-reviewed article and its impact factor. Nothing else matters.
