I've started casting off the scarf(???) that I started making 4 years ago, using up a full spool of thread weight yarn. I have no idea how long it is. Exciting day.
Finished it. It is roughly 160"W x 70"L, which I found out after finishing it. It took me four years to knit this, mostly during my worst pain flare ups, simply needing to distract myself. I gave it organic ripple and wave patterns (guided by whim), to echo the benthic texture of my favorite beach. Just a tiny bit of thread left on the once-full spool. #knitting
@hanjabanja Beautiful! Puts the tiny animal ears I knitted on the train on the way home from work this evening to shame!
@pleonastic ok but I want to see the cute animal ears!! 😻

@hanjabanja
It's beautiful! Are you planning to wash it? That would likely even out the stitches, and I don't know if you want that.

I'm usually a proponent of washing knits, but this is a rare exception.

Also, I'm sorry you had enough pain to make this. It's clearly a lot. ❤

@ginnikin Thank you! It's the biggest thing I've knitted so I have limited experience, but I don't think I will wash it. Its construction is so organic and uneven (lots of spontaneous weird stitches, definitely not even or symmetric), that I feel like that's just part of it. I would hate to alter its texture too, it's so soft! Thanks for the kind words. ❤️
