Took an early morning stroll to the seafront. Almost no one around, wonderful light, high tide and a very choppy sea.

It's a welcome antidote to sitting at my computer, and also from the scenes of devastation in the city centre where there are still piles of chopped trees lying around over one week after they were so needlessly felled in the council's night time raid.

For a stark comparison, here's how the city centre looks at the moment. Funny how the council could organise teams of tree surgeons and legions of security guards within just a few hours, but over one week later they still can't be arsed to remove the piles of dead trees.
