Most of my woodland photography is done when I'm immersed in nature deep inside the woods, but occasionally there are times when I find success on the edge of the woods on shorter visits with the camera.

It's also a very good tactic when photographing in a hoar frost, as the frost often doesn't spread far enough into the woods.
