👆 Panic and bombing makes a difference. People will flee toward even *slightly* better than what they have. The UK hasn't reached the bottom of the slippery slope it's sliding down. Yet.

Logical fallacy.
Afghanistan, Myanmar, etc occupy a different rank in those ratings, below ours.
Observing them, any movement in that direction should cause you concern.

Scots are overwhelmingly in favour of being part of the EU and voted against "brexit".
There is much bitterness about being pulled out of the EU against our will. It has hurt businesses and lowered our standard of living.
