WSJ is pure Murdoch poison, read at your own risk...
Can you call it an argument when it has no logic and no basis in reality?

He has read the script.
We're past that - elected Republican officials are calling for "eliminating" trans people - that's not a "little phrase."
That's.....wow. I got nothin'.
@jvagle Those numbers suggest eleven members, of which one was Black and one was LGBTQ+?
And that's just too much diversity, huh?
@jvagle They look like idiots when they say things like this. Anything that isnβt a white male Chistian is woke to them. lol.
@jvagle
Sad thing is that this gets echoed even in local news outlets like SF Gate because it is click bait. If you read the story, it just a headline statement with nothing behind it beyond saying it is a conservative talking point.

Spin doctors seem to have fallen through the looking glass in the past couple of days. How could *anyone* watch the antics of Elon Musk play out over these past months, and then accept that "wokeness" must be The Big Problem with a corporate culture that spawns the likes of him?
Libertarian Republicans, the party of "personal responsibility"...lol.
@jvagle
Woke does not equal broke.
Being a little sh*t and posting this on an already rightwing-corrupted news site makes you dedicated to being that little s*it.
@jvagle Does acting upon that belief violate civil rights laws? What about..just the act of expressing that belief? Would that be considered...idk, gray-area hate speech?
As if companies with a priority to be inclusive and more representative of their country and customers can not multitask and focus on several areas of company need, including safety and conscious teambuilding.
We are in alot worse trouble as a country if CEOs can't walk and chew gum while taking home 7-figure pay.
@jvagle the core argument is that they might not have had the absolute best people they could get because they wanted to fill some kind of quota. No mention if they did in fact hire to quota or they just didn't exclude people who arent cishet white men like most banks.
Of course there is no indication that anyone else in those roles wo uld have done anything different at all.
Republicans are using their media appearances to promote anti-ESG malign influence campaigns on behalf of their donors within the fossil fuel industry.
Everything gets blamed on "woke" culture war nonsense or ESG.
Republicans do nothing but donor maintenance for oil oligarchs & their financiers. These folks are prepared to fry the planet.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) β Conservative Republicans who want to thwart socially and environmentally conscious investing are now being pushed to water down their proposals after backlash from powerful business groups and fears that state pension systems could see huge losses.
