Like many burned-out programmers, I've developed a burgeoning interest in carpentry and woodworking. I haven't invested in all the fancy tools yet, but I’m getting by OK with the ones I have on hand.
@tkb Fellow burned out programmer, and I am **so** interested in woodworking. Feels like the perfect addition to the 3D printing I’ve taken up.
@joseph So far, I’ve managed to avoid doing any 3D printing. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I go down that rabbit hole as well.
@tkb @joseph why 3d print when you can build it from wood? 😀
@Paxxi @tkb Why have one when you can have both?
@tkb pain
@cliff @tkb this annoys me more than it should
@cliff @tkb where can I donate my entirely functional chisels to so that this pain will cease and I can "justify" a nice Japanese steel set that will cleave bone if you fuck up
@arrdem I appreciate the gesture, but I'll save you the trouble. You have sufficiently shamed me into ordering a set of actual chisels.
@cliff Sorry lol. I should have CW'd for the actual woodworkers of Mastodon.
@tkb you knew what you were doing
@tkb Is that USB 2 or USB 3?
@isaac32767 USB 2. Holds an edge just as well as USB 3 in my experience.
@tkb But wouldn't USB 3 go faster?
@tkb Is there still a right and wrong side on the plug??
@sanityinc Oh yeah, it's the worst. Seems more often than not that I start with the dull side down and have to flip it over.
@tkb I fear someone might come up with an USB chisel, using AI, and paid for with Bitcoin.
