A general recommendation for a really good TV show not enough people know about: Midnight Diner: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Diner_(Japanese_TV_series)

Bring a hanky if you’re even a little bit sentimental.

@timbray

This is a good series. I watched this on Netflix a while ago. 👍

@timbray One of my favorites! There's a calmness and quirkiness to it that I dont know if many people will appreciate but its perfect for those who do.
@timbray sometimes I watch this on my own in the early hours when I can’t sleep. Glad you enjoy it too.
@timbray the theme music is almost the most perfect intro to the show.
@eoin_murphy On YouTube, there's a live performance of that song by the artist, it's nice.
@timbray Very good show. It was very good time with it.
I can also recommend "1,000,000 yen no Onnatachi". Netflix suggested it to me, and I think it was good suggestion. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6686450/

@timbray sounds interesting. Will check it out.
@timbray it’s the best. Another great one is Samurai Gourmet…just so pleasant.
@timbray this was indeed great. If you like this I’d also highly recommend The Makanai, also on Netflix.
@timbray i love it in it’s awkwardness and slowness

@timbray And if you like reading, check out Toshikazu Kawaguchi's "Before the Coffee Gets Cold". Very similar vibe.

@timbray Thanks for the recommendation, very sweet.

a similar show you would like if this one hit the spot is Horace and Pete.
The theme song by Paul Simon perfectly represents the vibe throughout the show: https://youtu.be/qCscYyQNwVs?t=77
