@TomSchmidt @notjustbikes since hearing the statistics on how many truck owners have *never* towed or carried anything in these vehicles I can't unsee how all of them driving around my city are empty.

Just enormous empty trucks publicly soothing egos. It should be embarrassing!

Like, the unfortunate thing for truck drivers, is those truck beds are open, we can see when you need that thing for work and when you don't

The amazing thing is to see some of those same trucks in another country. They look completely out of proportion with the rest of the city, and for the owners it is hard to park anywhere.

You can get one of those in Chile, but they are relatively few, because of the high gas price, and the luxury tax applied.

I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with those while riding a bike here.

@TomSchmidt @notjustbikes We're told here (Canada) that pedestrians deaths caused by automobiles are on the rise. They never mention the type of vehicle that caused mortality, but I bet the rise in SUVs and trucks is directly correlated.

The other day in a grocery store parking I walked in front of a parked pickup truck. Its hood was higher than my shoulder FFS.

Oh, and the cargo area was closed off. I bet it's never used.
