watching mythbusters, Kari is wearing a jean skirt and neon green striped thigh-highsMe: why is she dressed like a trans girl?
Lucy: Because.. trans girls grew up watching this. Kari is the proto trans girl aesthetic

so many lovely trans girls on here I've discovered by posting this 😅🥰
@LunaRogue I was going to say that explains a lot, but I'm trying to picture Kari Byron, and all I can see is someone who is dressed for an illegal street race... 🤔
@[email protected] Still sounds like how some of us dress 😅
@LunaRogue Sure. And killing it, too!

It just doesn't explain anything about what happens when the image of a trans girl in a jean skirt and neon green striped thigh-highs pops into my head...

@LunaRogue I think there are also lot of milennial trans girls who wanted to dress like that in their teens/20s (when the rest of us were dressing like that 👀) but were still eggs/closeted, so that's their go to look when they come out.

(My stockings were pink & black, but Kari's outfit sounds like they way I dressed on 2004)

@LunaRogue being a geeky closeted unaware trans girl, and we see geeky women on TV like Kari Byron and Shannon Morse, little did we know we were obsessed by them because our subconscious mind was saying "they're like me me!".
(I use the word "geeky" because that's the terminology we had back then to describe our techy/sciencey inclination)
