I sense another influx of new users coming to the #fediverse soon. So I really think we should do our part to manage expectations.

If you are coming to #Mastodon for the #Twitter experience, I really have to caution you - a lot of us #mastoadmin don't know how to replicate the level of brokenness you're accustomed to.

If you want, every once in a while we can just turn the server off or something. If more people sign up for the Patreon I might be able to hire a part time troll for shift work.

@andrew @briankrebs Spinning up a new project called "Chaos Elon" that just randomly messes with a Mastodon instance from the inside. Hope is to replicate the Twitter 2023 experience with more fidelity!

@allafarce @briankrebs I mean I think you could do worse than a gibbon or something in the server room(s)? Like a well trained gibbon, but a completely unsupervised well trained gibbon.

For long stretches things would be fine, but then gibbons gonna gibbon.
