Do you realize how morally, spiritually, and intellectually vacant a movement would have to be to be taken over by Donald Trump?
@JuliusGoat a lot of us realized this in early 2016
@JuliusGoat
Unfortunately, at this point I fear the cultists are proud of that point.

@JuliusGoat

he is anti intellectualism personified. a deity to morons.

โ€œAnti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'โ€

the people who have bought both parties don't care as long as they avoid tax and regulation.

even if it devolves into civil war they will profit.

a happy person is a poor consumer.

he is their golden calf.

@JuliusGoat The party that has spent half a century expressing an abject hatred of collective action, Black people, and Latine immigrants, while talking about how they want to enter government to destroy it, might have moral, spiritual, and intellectual deficiencies? Couldn't be!

@JuliusGoat

It is the weird 2 tier RWNJ ecosystem.

Tier 1: The Nazis, Klansmen, Misogynists, and hordes of Fox News outrage junkies looking for a target to troll - what driftglass calls 'Reprogrammable meat-bags'

Tier 2: The overlords - the PR and propaganda professionals who craft the talking points and cultivate the Tier 1 to attack specific targets. There is an interlocking network of think tanks, media orgs, ALEC, Fed Soc all levitating on fountain of RW Oligarch $$$

@JuliusGoat Indeed. But desperate to be "winning" again.
@JuliusGoat I was having a similar thought this morning. All the individuals and institutions with power that make a party and this is what it produces.
@JuliusGoat Not to mention incompetent - dude couldn't take over an ice cream stand.
@JuliusGoat got a much better idea of it now ...

Trump is no fool, despite the way he acts. His talent has always been to walk into a room, identify the easiest marks to exploit and cheat, say exactly what he needs to say to get them to go along with it and then slip away with more money in his pocket than he could loose from it

He saw the GOP as easy prey because of their morally, spiritually, and intellectually vacancy

And the GOP gleefully skipped along, knowing he'd give them their prey. Power, Money and Domination

@JuliusGoat

@JuliusGoat many thanks for your connection ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐ŸŒป
