It’s ironic that the most obnoxious and impolite bird out there is the *Canadian* goose
@drskyskull I've asked some Canadians about this, and they seem to view them as nothing but national treasures. Maybe they just come down south to shit and honk and stay polite when up north.

@drskyskull

China has spy balloons. Canada has geese.

@EricLawton @spacegeck @drskyskull Foreign Attack Geese once disabled our power supply. Flew into lines and caused a 2hr power cut. We have little reflective things hanging from lines to try to reduce it. Mind you, tasty when it does happen.
@EricLawton @spacegeck @drskyskull Top tip: a goose's honk is quite low in the neck. If you gut one missing a head it will still make a loud HONK! when you shove your hand in. Yes, I shat it.
@spacegeck @drskyskull Are you referring to geese or hockey players?
@drskyskull
some people have a picture that ages while they don't. Canadians have geese that are rude when they aren't.
@llewelly @drskyskull Now I want a bottle of Dorian Grey Goose
Honk [OC]

@drskyskull I thought that Canadian geese were what made the net politeness levels work out.
@drskyskull have you ever seen the mini Canada geese? There’s a dwarf species around here that’s identical in coloring but half the size & they tend to flock near the big guys but not with them, and unlike regular Canada geese they aren’t mean, they’re kinda shy
@drskyskull Right? One would expect Apologize Geese.

@drskyskull
Actually, to be pedantic, it's the Canada Goose. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Canada_Goose/

And, as many people have noted, Canadians aren't necessarily nice or kind people. We hide a lot of sins behind our "polite" reputation.
Lots of polite people aren't kind, they're just maintaining appearances.

Canada Goose Overview, All About Birds, Cornell Lab of Ornithology

The big, black-necked Canada Goose with its signature white chinstrap mark is a familiar and widespread bird of fields and parks. Thousands of “honkers” migrate north and south each year, filling the sky with long V-formations. But as lawns have proliferated, more and more of these grassland-adapted birds are staying put in urban and suburban areas year-round, where some people regard them as pests.

@drskyskull They're cute and quiet and polite up here.
