And I’ve encountered his attitude among conservatives back in the 80s. They don’t care how hard life be for anyone, that if 1 person in that situation can succeed than failure is always the responsibility of that individual. They don’t care if someone has advantages, just work harder.

Speaking of reparations. Did you know that Britain just finished paying reparations for slavery in 2015... to white people for the financial "pain" they felt when they weren't allowed to own humans anymore.

In 2015, Britain was still seeing the white slave owners as the victims and, like Adams, most probably still do.
