So, @mmasnick posted a screenshot of #CaptainBirdchan announcing that he'd unblocked everyone “apart from scammers" and recommending that “others do the same” -- so naturally I checked to see if Elon would be so vain and petty as to forcibly remove blocks on his account, and lo-and-behold, he is. I had his account muted and blocked for months, and I re-blocked him just now. Let's see how long this one lasts.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick Just to be super clear, you're saying he programmatically removed your account's block on HIM?
@shoq @DataDrivenMD @mmasnick I checked out of curiosity & Emo was also unblocked on my bird site acct. 😑 Just reblocked.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick doesn’t Elon know the best way to avoid blocking is to delete your account and browse twitter anon?
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick he was still blocked for me, thankfully
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick I just checked my dormant account and he is still blocked
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick Block and mute are intact on my account.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick From some articles I've read, large accounts like his take a long time to process changes due to the volume of relations involved, combined with Twitter's decreased capacity means the changes may be taking time to take effect.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick my block remains in place.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick I wonder if the commonality is whether or not your account is private. Mine is private and I rarely log in
@DataDrivenMD Only muted him, never blocked. Lo and behold he was no longer muted when I checked tonight.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick nah my block on him still holds, for more than half a year now. Perhaps he considers me a "scammer" bcz i didn't censor my language while commenting his idiocy before i was fed up and blocked him.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick I blocked him a couple of weeks ago and he’s still blocked.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick Still muted here, can't remember if he was also blocked, but I think so.

That's one way to generate traffic to a site. Make everyone curious if their blocklist is still in effect.

I got a piece of advice: Just delete your account. Your curiosity will die with it. If you want bad takes, you can just follow ME!

I promise, I won't be refactoring bovine more then once a month, that might make it necessary for you to follow me again. I actually plan to do such a refactoring soon ... So non-sticky follow instead of non-sticky block. I see this as a WIN!

@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick Further actions of narcissism from the worlds most divorced and soon to be bankrupted man.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick the good news is my follower count is low enough that I fall into the "spammers" bucket and the block held 🙌
@DataDrivenMD he is still blocked on my account.

@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick

Probably someone pointed him at an article from 2017/2018 about the evils of filter bubbles and he'll decide that for our own good mute and block will be removed as features from Twtr Basic as the next logical step.

Mind you not many people are multi-billionaires with the sort of FU money that allows them to hire scary personal security firms but hey when has that ever factored into his thinking?

@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick

It's very interesting to see him saying "negative feedback is a good thing" because I constantly get kicked out of Twitter for saying that Ericsson is a sponsor of ISIS, wich is a known fact. I don't offend nor incite anyone to violence.
The tweets are the ones you find here on my profile.
e.g., Ericsson is a sponsor of ISIS (all said and done about their integrity, business conduct and ethics).

@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick just checked status having blocked #Elmo on Day One of the takeover - reblocked, we'll see; fascinating that the guy who says, "Negative feedback is a good thing," doesn't understand that getting blocked is the ultimate feedback indicator...
@DataDrivenMD I've blocked him by not logging in to the Twit.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick
I looked on my Twitter account just now and my Block on Elon is still there.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick FWIW my block of Elon on Twitter has not been removed without my consent.
@DataDrivenMD
I just checked and found the same. Muted and blocked again.
@mmasnick
@DataDrivenMD He's still blocked for me, currently at least.
@DataDrivenMD
But that means he did not think you are a "scammer." You should be soooo flattered!
@DataDrivenMD haven’t been on the bird site since they killed 3rd party clients; I was pretty sure (but not 100%) I’d blocked/muted musk, but there he was. Tried to mute and block him just now and they really make you go through hoops—was that always a thing? Let’s see if my requests actually go through
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick whatever happened here... his account *was* on my block list and did get removed. But he was still a muted account for me. Also all muted words were reset on my account, where I had several phrases and variations of his name ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick Mutes of Musk appear to still be effective.
@DataDrivenMD @mmasnick
Confirmed here too. Blocked him years ago but just had to do so again.
