Everyone has their own decarboxylating techniques and favorite high proof liquor to produce a tincture. Would you like to share yours as I melt into the couch?

I would love to talk about making sugar
I can make a nice tincture - 1cc is a dose - and I currently use an egg poacher to evaporate the alcohol away, and then i melt a caramel on the spot it leaves behind. it works but its kind of a pain.
how you do?
btw i use 190 proof vodka for solvent - only a one hour soak - and i use kief - put a pinch in a folded slip of parchment, wrap in foil, place between preheated cast iron pans.
It's not messy, really, just annoying. The little cups are non-stick so the caramel comes right off when it cools a little. You can use the same technique to make butter too.
The blender is the step I was missing - makes sense now.
How long does it keep? I found that decarbed bud would lose about half it's strength after a month in the freezer, dunno if it would last longer in sugar or tincture form.
@mikejackmin
You shouldn't lose #thc strength unless you're holding for years, and I would ask what containers were used because it matters.
I take 1 tsp. nightly to sleep, and helps with tossing and turning too.
If I'm feeling adventurous, I add 1/4 tsp. to my oatmeal in the morning.
The THC loss I was seeing was from decarbed bud. I've had a handful of people tell me that tinctures (and edibles made from it) are much more stable. Maybe something in the plant matter was acting as a catalyst.
I'm going to try a small-scale batch of sugar and see how it goes.
Have you experimented with mild heat - maybe 150F or so - to speed evaporation? I think that's what the egg poacher is giving me and sugar melts well above that.
@mikejackmin
What are you using to decarb? And are you getting the trueš”inside of that product? The best way to find out is to do a dry run with no #cannabis inside with a digitalš”probe. This is what I use in my toaster oven, and I have no complaints because I use the digitalš”as the reference, not the oven dial.

How did the sugar turn out?
