I don’t understand the attraction of being able to talk to computers using breezy casual conversational language; I’ve been telling these little digital bastards what to do for decades using extremely precise formalised language and they still get it wrong
@sinbad @brunns I’ve been finding myself in an odd place about this too. Having grown up with Star Trek and *much* other SF where people talked to their computers (robots often). Even wrote one. (Don’t bother looking.) But now they’re here and we *can* talk to our computers… I don’t wanna. I *really* don’t want to. Even if they were good at it (ie: it’s not just about them being a bit rubbish still).

@StrangeNoises @sinbad @brunns Same. Verbal commands out loud are not my jam.

Now, the future tech where you’re gesturing at and manipulating images floating in the air? Gimme.
