rus@briannawu while I've stopped using my account there, I've left it in place (for a few reasons). The removal of basic account security would remove any comfort with leaving the account there. It would be deleted immediately.
Which also means my old handle would be available after whatever T's cooling down period is, which also makes me less than happy...

Are they paywalling TOTP and U2F (if they offer U2F idk never been on the birdsite ever) as well? If so, thats a blatant cash grab.
But I think this might quite possibly be blown out of proportion.
