@gruber if you think Mastodon has hit critical mass, I'm not seeing it at all outside of the tech world. And, yeah, they're going to be the early adopters, but… I still think it has a long way to go.
@iacas Oh, what I’m talking about is a *nerdy* critical mass. The co-authors of a WebKit blog post are a perfect example. Critical mass on the scale of, say, GitHub.
@gruber @iacas its getting very close to critical mass outside of the technerds as well. As an example, the dutch higher education system has an overarching body (similar to internet2 in the USA) that just set up an extensive mastodon presence for the entire higher education community. You can 1-click register/login with your university credentials.
