Likely given to my grandfather by Canadian relatives. Sadly I have lost all ties with them.
I should make an effort finding them.

Yes, Fort William is now called Thunder Bay and not surprisingly , I have Finn relatives who lived there as well.
This is a picture of the ice fishing rod my great grandfather Pekka Mikkonen brought with him from Finland to Canada. It still works and is as tough as when it was first carved!
That is a nice piece of history!
We have somewhere a nice stainless reel from Canada. It is not in working order, but a nice memory piece aswell.
I found it. Maybe should have it renovated. 🤷♂️
