@reallychris @JonnElledge in seriousness, I remember coming across a report of a debate between Attlee and a Conservative MP about what the 'futute' the country should be. And the article was like:

"Mr Attlee argued that every child should be able to walk to their school. He was surprisingly firm on this subject."

@garius @JonnElledge yeah sometimes i find myself wondering if car dependency is a very intentional means of inequality, or i am also being a conspiracy theorist, so it's not surprising to see that foresight from somebody like attlee.

@reallychris that’s literally every community in Japan. Sadly the US and more recently the UK have succumbed to poor design and the whims of property developers.

@JonnElledge I binned twitter for new year. I've sort of missed it, but have felt lower levels of general, mild anxiety since quitting. Your toot here slapped me in the face with what I've been missing. I used to seek out nut-nuts like Churchill there. It's stopped being fun.

@JonnElledge Isn't this the same person who tweeted with great pride about visiting the equivalent of A&E with a family member refusing to wear a mask? The day she may require surgery, I trust she will consent to the surgical team to perform their tasks maskless.
