@fencoul I don't use Mastodon, so, no?
@ada You know you just said that on Mastodon, right?
@fencoul No I didn't :)

I use Calckey, which is part of the greater fediverse. It includes Mastodon, but lots of other platforms too!
@fencoul I mean, yes, everything, since I've entirely stopped posting to Twitter.
@fencoul I don't use twitter. With that being yes. Twitter was already going the way of the #dictator #dinosaur and #twanker45 long before Musk sunk it .
@fencoul Vice versa, actually. If I got suicidal again I wouldn’t feel comfortable posting about it on Mastodon

@fencoul
I don't post anything on Twitter any more.

#birdsite #mastodon

@fencoul

I'd put the square root of fuck all on the bird site.
And I haven't done for many years.

@fencoul I noticed that I am not censored for using the F word. Other than that, everything I say here is similar to what I wrote on Twitter.
Except they suspended me every single time I cursed Republicans
@fencoul I don’t past on Twitter anymore but Masradon is much more of an echo chamber, so no.
@fencoul I wouldn't put anything on Mastodon, given I don't use it :)
@thatonecalculator @fencoul technically everything you post lands on someone's mastodon instance
@fencoul The opposite. Original posts on birdsite were shouting into the void, often with little feedback who, if anyone besides bot screens, saw it. Also very little feedback on original posts on this masto account/server but it still feels a bit like shouting where the neighbours can hear. There's much about my life they don't want to know or I'm not safe sharing so I'm self-censoring even more than on birdsite.
@fencoul Also, this whole idea that we listen to each other and have good conversations on Mastodon flies right out the window on certain topics.
Blocking seems to happen faster here so there's even less opportunity to try to clear up a misunderstanding.
Self-censoring is the only sane approach at this time.
(Last block was for trying to share info on WHY a misperception had taken hold, because you know, helps us figure out how to sort them out. How dreadful of me, eh?)

@emmaaum 👆I've not experienced any of that so far on here...but it happened regularly on #BirdSite (again just this morning).

Hmmm...

@fencoul I barely look at #hellsite anymore, and basically only reply.

@fencoul it certainly feels that way but there's only one way to be sure - the social media litmus test...

TRANS-WOMEN ARE WOMEN

and now we play the waiting game...

@fencoul One thing I like about Mastodon is that I don't*have* to post/talk. I feel like I'm contributing just by lurking, boosting, and favoriting.
@fencoul There's definitely things I'd be happier posting about on here because I won't get someone with a username like BritishPatriot46789 picking a fight over it
