Right, now that I'm mostly settled in I think it's time for a proper #introduction from me!

My name is Elizabeth, I'm a 26yo #trans woman currently stuck in rural Illinois. My interests include #Nintendo and #PCgaming, #thrifting old stuff that I find nostalgic, #HeavyMetal (and just music in general), and #DigitalArt. My dream is to create some sort of artistic work, whether it be a game or a graphic novel, that can help people find themselves and heal, like so many artistic works have done for me.

I'm also gonna be totally real here, my life is currently in shambles from years of depression and denying myself love and authenticity. I'm here now trying to pick up the pieces, but absolutely expect some doom-posting if you follow me (with appropriate CWs of course). I try my best to be a positive light here online, but sometime I just have to vent and ramble about life.

Otherwise my goals are to go back to college for digital art and graphic design, get the hell out of rural America, and start living as ME!

@Ellizamint Hi, Elizabeth, nice to meet you! I’m also living with depression and I’ve found a lot of very understanding people in the Fediverse.

What kind of metal are you into? I’ve just started listening to it again for the first time since the 1990s 😂 (Currently love Zeal & Ardor, Mastodon and… Ghost, but have also been listening to the Anthrax that I used to love back then.)

@sheepchase Hi sheepchase! I'm definitely more into old school heavy metal and thrash metal. My favorites include Testament, Metallica, Megadeth, most any era of Black Sabbath, Pantera, Anthrax, Exodus, ect. I also very much have a soft spot for Slipknot, Disturbed, Korn, Rob Zombie, ect. since I grew up with that stuff. I'm totally down to check out newer bands, but I haven't found a whole lot that resonate with me.

And absolutely the fediverse has been wonderful. I honestly don't know that I would have bothered migrating from mastodon.lol if this place wasn't a positive influence on my mental health!

@Ellizamint Waaaaaa basically the bands I love too then - when I was a teen thrash metal was mainly what I listened to, though I did also love some old school stuff (Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, even Thin Lizzy).

Korn I like, I dunno why can’t get into Slipknot - I think I missed out on that (and fortunately Nu Metal lol).

I’m glad you’re here 😊
