@geerlingguy I was trying to get RPiLocator to hang off your website, but he did not realise you are a giant in the RPi space
@geerlingguy Haha the bittersweet side is the out of stock Pis forced me to finally dive into esp32. Sure they are not really equal, but a lot of small projects can still work on them. And damn they are crazy cheap and plentiful.
@geerlingguy There are some things you don't make jokes about! πŸ˜† πŸ˜‰
@geerlingguy They have them in stock just up the road from me in the Cambridge store…
@geerlingguy You should pop over here to Cambridge in the UK, the official Raspberry Pi store always has them in stock 😊
@geerlingguy My TuringPi arrived yesterday. I had to hide it away or it would just make the same joke πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
@geerlingguy After the rest of the computer industry mostly reset to normal, it seems the little Pi's are still rare. I hope this improves soon so others can enjoy them/change the world with them. #RaspberryPi #supplychain
@Trimble_tech @geerlingguy They are making plenty, but most are going to their partners to embed in products. Out of 7M per year they decided to dedicate 100k to consumers. Clearly their priorities have moved. I switched to an Rk3588 for $120, it's much better designed (no usb used for network or storage), has eMMC for storage, 2.5Gbe, and is around 2-7 times faster.
@geerlingguy That's how I felt when inquiring last summer of a vendor's estimated restocking date. lol
