Dev@aristurtle been looking into alternatives to GA as well and Matomo came up. Aren't you worried about the extra maintenance overhead?
@dost we switched to Matomo at work so I've been pretty familiar with working with it, and haven't had any overhead issues there.
I only have three personal sites, one of which will be dropped soon, for game dev and open source projects, which don't generate massive traffic anyway, so my overhead should be really minimal.
But ask me again later and I can give a better answer 😄
