I will never be smug about my home state. We may be better than many, but then stuff like this arises:

Lawmakers propose letting Massachusetts prisoners donate organs for reduced sentences

Critics call the bill "perverse" and say it's like "harvesting organs."

If they donate a heart, it will be reduced a lot. Just release them before the removal, and they will be free for the rest of their lives.
