@w7voa William Ruto or Tsai Ing-wen, for starters...
@w7voa War is the “raison d’etre” of the American state, with a 2023 defense budget greater than the next seven countries together to support the US hegemony, which defense priorities undermine the internal priorities.
@w7voa the border with Florida concerns me.
@w7voa “ Ban Assault Weapons Now” Biden, raising his voice for every American to hear as the majority of the chamber rises to applaud. #banassaultweapons
@w7voa That was powerful.
@w7voa By good he means votes for him.
@w7voa I feel a bit of anger reading that and remembering the way mitigation measures were cut since Biden took office and allowed over 700000 to die and millions more to become disabled by long covid. And he claims to have saved millions of lives. Warped perspective
No-poach agreements, which long held fast-food workers in place, may soon be over

In a year’s time, the country’s biggest chains have agreed to let workers move between franchises. Why were they stuck there in the first place?

@parkermolloy How is that not restraint of trade under Sherman?

@parkermolloy @w7voa
Bastards.

I mean the 32 fast food corporations, not you people in this thread.

Ex Burger King workers get another bite at 'no-hire' conspiracy lawsuit

A federal appeals court has revived a potential class action against Burger King over its prior use of a “no-hire” clause that blocked all franchisees from hiring each other’s employees.

@w7voa

Jimmy Johns tried, certainly. Other low-wage enterprises may have done so less visibly and more successfully. In any case, cheering for non-compete clauses is definitely part of the Republican brand.

@w7voa actually this is true. Some restaurants and fast food establishments have required noncompete contracts.

https://thecounter.org/biden-targeting-non-compete-agreements-executive-order-push-workers/

Biden is targeting non-compete agreements with an executive order. Here’s what that could mean for the restaurant industry.

Many workers—from brewers to chefs to fast-food employees—are subject to non-competes, restricting their ability to find new jobs or start their own business.

@w7voa Has she met Rick Scott?
@w7voa Rick Scott and Lindsey Graham say otherwise.
@w7voa I was not expecting to laugh during the SOTU “So we’re all in agreement then, we’re not touching Social Security or Medicare”
@w7voa well so much for not acting like children eh Kev?
@w7voa MTG, hoping someone pays attention to her
@w7voa then gets them all to agree that it’s off the table and stand in solidarity for seniors.
@w7voa Repubs were maaaad about this one 😂
@w7voa
Not to mention the intellectual deficit.
@w7voa
McCarthy looked like his prunes had just kicked in.
@w7voa This G.O.P. caucus is the biggest group of self-important and self-serving assholes ever to sit for a SOTU. Speaking from over 60 years of experience.
@w7voa I know you have to type fast to stay in real-time with events. After, I hope you can go back to this one and add in the best part, between those two quotes from the prepared remarks😆
@w7voa is that allowed under whatever we call NAFTA now?
@w7voa is McCarthy perched on an oversized Pillow Guy hemorrhoid cushion perchance?
