By the way, the same corporations telling us they have no choice but to raise prices are simultaneously spending billions of dollars on stock buybacks to enrich their wealthy shareholders.
@voron@rbreich we need solid liberal majority in house and senate to make that happen. As well as enough money to fight the disinformation campaign that would oppose it.
@rbreich@steamtrain1225 The way to get that majority is for Dems to fight for things. The GOP fights for crazy crap, even when it won’t pass, they keep fighting building support, then they pass crazy crap years later, after electing crazy people. The Dems tell us why they can’t even fight for things…., 👆 That’s not working, not for the Dems, not for the country
@rbreich At Cisco in the mid 2000s I loved how there were record profits and they wanted each employee to be worth $1M but sorry, no raises and no replacing people who leave!
@rbreich and trying to wag the wage dog by dumping tech workers. like we don't know those boys are all in the same oligarchic club that the media plays up to.
@rbreich so are the companies engaged in price fixing? It makes no sense that one of them wouldn’t cut their price to win a larger share of the market unless they are in an agreement. I just think there has to be more to it than they keep the prices high because they can.
