People asking me for a cheaper Mastodon hosting plan. The short answer is no. Why? Our focus is on quality not quantity.

Cheap hosting providers using shared infra, meaning shared compute and storage resources. Most of them started recently.

@ZiggyD @jan also, often providers with poor service delivery will have unusually long or harsh contract terms to keep people trapped once they sign on the line. A keen eye is needed to tell the difference between a regular master service agreement and a hostage situation.
