There was yet another Twitter API policy change last night: “good" bots may have light write-only API access.

This was instigated by, checks notes, someone Tweeting a picture of their cat.

I wish I was clever enough to make this stuff up…

@gedeonm we're still getting daily questions about when we're coming back. I feel bad because people miss us. But I don't feel bad about not missing Twitter 2.0.

@paul Yeah I think some people can’t grasp what actually took place when Musk pulled what he pulled. I don’t blame them really but the reality of the situation is akin to being in an abusive relationship. Even if we COULD come back at this point would we? No damned way.

Musk (and many like him) think in programming term: if it doesn’t work, we’ll just revert the change and will be back to the initial state.
He doesn’t get that people don’t work like that and that reputation and trust don’t have an Undo.
