So I discovered that you can use SF Symbols anywhere in macOS where there is an editable text field and now my Safari tab groups are looking fabulous! ✨
@ciscoserrano I take it that this wouldn’t work on iOS? 🙈
@JeroenSchaper no it doesn’t!! 😭😭😭
@ciscoserrano bummer! Would’ve loved to use this in apps like Reeder 😅

@ciscoserrano AFAIK this requires the SF Symbols font to be explicitly downloaded and installed.

@ciscoserrano that will work if you have the SF Pro fonts installed
@ciscoserrano @kevinbhayes Yes! I frequently use them in Keynote presentations because they're just text objects. Works great!
@ciscoserrano Man, that is a great idea.
@ciscoserrano this me making me want to rethink me work flow. I utilize chrome tan groups but really liking this aesthetically. Now to see if my work stream aka all the apps I use for work will not give me an issue on Safari. Been forever since I tried making it my default work browser. 🤞🏻
@ciscoserrano such a great idea! I did it with emojis, but this takes it to the next level 🤩
@ciscoserrano @zemlanin wow, thanks for the tip, was using emoji but this is way better!
@ciscoserrano @uliwitness Great find! Look what I coincidentally discovered while reading about your discovery. You can move @ivory’s *New Post* button around by long-pressing and holding it.
@ciscoserrano Currently using emojis on my tab groups, but must say this looks cleaner.
@ciscoserrano the only problem is that they are not shown on iOS devices and there it appears just a square of missing character I wonder why SF Symbol is not used system-wide in iOS
@ciscoserrano They look lovely on macOS but now I’ve got a load of question marks in boxes on iOS. 🙁
@adam that is the price you must pay. ): I wish they worked on iOS.
@ciscoserrano that’s amazing. Would you mind sharing how you did this?
@ciscoserrano @rauschma how do you actually use them? How do you find and get them for input?
@gregatron5 @rauschma download the SF Symbols app from the Apple website and then just copy and paste them.
@ciscoserrano ah, I was hoping there was some easier way to input them. Thanks!
@ciscoserrano Finally got around to trying this out. Looks nice in Finder too! Beware though, will break Dropbox sync.
